Play Pretend and Don’t Think I’ll Know

We’ve been in Cork for the jazz weekend for the last few years and it’s always a great weekend so we’re looking forward to it again.
I reccommend you check out The Hot Club of Cowtown on Sunday afternoon in the Crane Lane Theatre too. It’s also free and they’re an amazingly talented bunch of musicians.

Director have teamed up with the man on the up and up, video director Eoghan Kidney to produce this slice of death-filled gore. The promo for ‘Play Pretend’ released Europe-wide is a nasty take on the sci-fi /B-movie genre. As Director take to the murky stage and an eerie crowd gathers the natural elements combine to transform the nocturnal gathering into an all out blood bath.

You can catch the band at a few shows over the summer.

Hey up,
We’re taking part in an exclusive interactive music event, where we will be playing to a live on-line audience, worldwide, from the Old Jameson Distillery in Dublin on March 13th, 2010. You can log on to www.jamesonwhiskey.com on March 13th, 8pm GMT to watch the Jameson Global Party live.
Now that the promo spiel is done with, the good news is that we have ten pairs of tickets to give away for the event. Seeing as it’s sponosored by Jameson the uisce beatha will no doubt be flowing in copious amounts.Â
If you and a friend/loved one/well wisher would like to join us all you have to do is email directorband(at)gmail.com with your two names and some such comment endorsing your love or at the very least, lack of shame for us and all that we stand for. First come, first served, if you’re not in it you can’t win it etc.
]]>Resolutions for getting up earlier, practising every day and other general ideals of betterment are still vaguely being adhered to. We’ve been keeping a bit shy of each other for the last month or so; taking a bit of a break from writing and rehearsing and seeing what a little perspective can bring to the general mix.
I bought and am loving a Deluxe Memory Man second hand which broke and then magically fixed itself again a few weeks later. Michael is beavering away on his new passion for mixing and general studio nerdery and the rhythm brothers are doing whatever it is they do in that strange little world of theirs.
The video for I’ll Wait For Sound we shot with the Tisch New York Film school is up now and we’d like to say a huge thanks to all the students and extras who worked completely for free on the whole thing. I think they did a stunning job.
On an unrelated matter here is a version of Lovebuzz from Nirvana’s debut Bleach. It was done for the 2oth anniversary of the release of the album for Cork’s 96Fm last December. In tribute to the overall sound of the album, production level, sound quality and general togetherness was kept to a minimum.
